Abstract:
This information pack sets out to describe the Environment Agencys role in promoting and supporting the principles of sustainable development in Anglian Region. It explains how the Agency could contribute through participation, education and partnerships to the Local Agenda 21 process. This pack has primarily been compiled for local authority officers involved in the Agenda 21 process. It sets out the role the EA can play and the information It could provide to assist them, and their local communities, to work towards achieving sustainable development. The EA also hopeS that voluntary and community groups and members of the public interested in Local Agenda 21 will find the pack useful. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Agency directly, contact details are included at the end of the pack. The pack briefly describes the objectives of sustainable development and the Agenda 21 process. It then relates these to the Agencys key areas of interest.
