Abstract:
This brief National Rivers Authority leaflet describes the Great Ouse (Bedford Ouse). Rising near Whitfield, north of Brackley in Northamptonshire, the Bedford Ouse is the upper fluvial section of the River Great Ouse. From source it flows 182.9 km in a north easterly direction to Brownshill Staunch near the village of Over in Cambridgeshire. An NRA designated main river, the Bedford Ouse incorporates several major tributaries including the Twin, Tove, Ouzel and Ivel.
