Title: River Kennet catchment management plan : annual review 1994/95 : June 1995
Author: National Rivers Authority Thames Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
This report outlines the progress made towards realising the catchment vision since the publication of the Action Plan in April 1994. It is recommended that this report is read in conjunction with the Action Plan. A significant amount of work was done during the year 1994. Main achievements: 1. The determination of the Afford Licence Variation. Thames Water Utilities (TWUL) appealed to the Secretary of State for the Environment against the NRA's decision; 2. Good working relationships established between NRA Thames West Area Operations and British Waterways; 3. Rivers Kennet and Lamboum SSSI boundary survey and definition completed. Main disappointment had been the Moor Ditch Pollution incident. However, lessons had been learnt and NRA prosecuted Thames Water who were fined for polluting the SSSI.
