Water quality monitoring provides information that is vital to many sections within the National Rivers Authority. The following notes when read in conjunction with A Guide to Sampling Bottles and Their Use, will provide general guidance on how to sample both efficiently and safely. In order that a more detailed description can be obtained, the sampling of rivers and trade discharges will be discussed separately.
