Abstract:
The data presented here were collected from the Authority's Regions as part of the preparation of the Authority's first 1989 to 1990 Annual Report and Accounts. Originally it was intended to utilise the information in the Annual Report but because of difficulties validating certain data, only selected information was presented in the first Annual Report. Subsequently additional data for 1989 to 1990 has been added to the original data set from Regions 1991 to 1992 Plans. The purpose of this document is to provide a factual baseline of management information about the NRA's jurisdiction, assets and initial activity during the first year of its existence. Comparative data for this year are presented to enable comparison with the predecessor RWA's. Some of the fixed assets show a decrease in numbers between 1988 and 1990 due to the division of assets between the Water Utility Plcs and the NRA that occurred as a result of the 1989 Water Act. The information contained within this document is for use in future Corporate Plans, Annual Reports, Fact Sheets and other NRA publications, for use by the DoE, MAFF, Welsh Office and other Government departments, and for public and media enquiries.
