Author: Environment Agency North East Region
Document Type: Monograph
Abstract:
This is the Consultation Report of the Local Environment Agency Plan (LEAP) for the Cheviot and East Northumberland area. The boundaries used for the LEAPs follow the river catchment boundaries, therefore the Cheviot and East Northumberland LEAP covers the catchments of the Rivers Tweed (English section only), Ain, Coquet, Wansbeck, and Blyth, their tributaries and the northern coastal streams; the Wear LEAP covers the catchment of the River Wear and its tributaries; the Tyne LEAP covers the catchment of the River Tyne and its tributaries. The Consultation Report has two parts: Part 1 identifies issues facing the local environment, a n d makes proposals for action to address those issues. t. Part 2 provides the background information to support Part 1. It describes the Cheviot and East Northumberland area, identifies uses and activities which are prevalent within the area and seeks to measure the environmental quality of the area against identified standards.
