Set in the tranquil Dorset countryside, but close to main transport links, the Freshwater Biological Association River Laboratory in the village of East Stoke, near Wareham, offers flexible and tailored facilities for business meetings, conferences, events, workshops and training courses.
The FBA Conference Room accommodates up to 100 people, but is equally suitable for small workshops and meetings. The Conference Room provides a flexible space for business meetings, conferences and lectures. The room can be configures in a variety of formats (see pictures below) for example, 100 seated guests, round table meetings, workshop breakout groups, and board meeting formats.
The room is also ideally suited for practical courses and field studies as it has direct access to the grounds, local countryside and 4km of the nearby River Frome and Millstream which are ideal for field work. Freshwater sampling equipment and microscopes and can be hired and tutors are also available on request to provide freshwater biology and environmental science training at all levels from school-level pond dipping, through secondary education field trips, to under graduate teaching and excursions, and more advanced post graduate level training. We also cater for a wide range of interested amateurs and always welcome all those who share our passion from freshwater biology.

The site has full reception and administration cover to support your event. There is also ample off road car and coach parking (free of charge).
We also provide buffet lunches and tea, coffee and cold refreshments.
The FBA also has another room seating up to 12 people for smaller meetings. As with the Conference Room above this has a projector and buffet lunches and tea, coffee and cold refreshments can be provided.
