Abstract:
A microbiological survey was undertaken in September 1998 as a continuation of monitoring the offshore bathing waters in the North West (see previous reports MSP-96-005 and MSP-96-014). None of the points sampled are designated bathing waters under the EC bathing directive 1975 (76/160/EEC), but it was considered appropriate to use the mandatory and guideline values given in the directive to classify the results.
