This Environment Agency booklet aims to analyse different environmental issues of the Tyne catchment, located withi the North East Region. The main tributaries of the River Tyne are the North and South Tyne, two contrasting rivers which meet at Warden near Hexham to become the Tyne proper. The North Tyne rises in the Cheviot Hills near the Scottish border and the South Tyne starts in the Cumbrian Pennines.
