Abstract:
This is the consultation report of Sankey and Glaze Local Environment Agency Plan (LEAP). The Consultation Report integrates all aspects of the water environment over a defined geographical area, called a catchment. The uses of the catchment are explained; problems and issues are identified, with possible options to resolve them. Catchment Management Consultation Reports are circulated widely for external comment and this consultation period lasts for three months. The Sankey/Glaze Local Environment Agency Plan area includes the areas of Glaze Brook and Sankey Brook, their tributaries and the River Mersey from Bollin Point to Howley Weir. It also includes are the catchments of Padgate, Spittle, Fishington and Whittle Brooks and their tributaries which drain into the River Mersey. The area lies to the west of Bolton and the north and north west of Warrington, taking in St Helens, Leigh, Newton-Le-Willows and the north side of Warrington.
