The primary function of this course is to equip people with the necessary additional skids in order to carry out accompanied inspections of simpler closed radioactive sources. This course will: Introduce the basic elements of radioactivity; Provide guidance on radiation protection and safety; Give an overview of the equipment that will be used; Provide an introduction to the Radioactive Substances Act 1993; Describe typical applications and uses of closed sources; Explain what will be required to carry out compliance inspections.
