Abstract:
Between January and April 2004 the Environment Agency consulted around 6000 people, including key stakeholders and abstraction licence holders, on our proposals for a revised water abstraction Charges Scheme. The review of the scheme was initiated in response to Government's directions set out in 'Taking Water Responsibly' and 'Tuning Water Taking'. 180 responses were received in the first consultation. This document contains the responses received to the first round of consultation and aims purely to summarise them.
