Author: Environment Agency
Document Type: Monograph
The Environment Agency began its work of managing the environment in England and Wales on 1st. April 1996. The Agency has responsibilities for the environmental protection of water, land and air. The Catchment Management Plan (CMP) was initiated by a predecessor authority , the National Rivers Authority. This Annual Review of the plan therefore deals with the management and protection of the water environment. The Alt/Crossens CMP has proven to be a valuable mechanism for the former National Rivers Authority (NRA) to initiate examination of the water related environmental issues within the catchment. The CMP has been instrumental in achieving improvement on issues and also establishing partnerships and collaboration with a wide spectrum of organisations.
