Abstract:
The following review will provide a summary of catchment statistics, issues, current and future proposed NRA activity in order to achieve a broad awareness of potential opportunities and constraints. The document will also form the basis of the full Catchment Management Plan which will provide the focus for those concerned with the future wellbeing of the water environment of the area. The Catchment Review study area covers the Thame catchment, as illustrated by Map 1. The study area covers 684 km2 and is predominately rural in character with the main urban area being Aylesbury, with a population of 55,700. There are also a number of smaller settlements including Thame, Tring and Princes Risborough. The study area has a total population of approximately 90,000.
