Abstract:
The objectives of this project are to maintain statutory navigation levels above the Irthlingborough lock which is located 1.5km north east of Irthlingborough, and to provide adequate structures to cope with existing peak flows. The problem we have is that the weirs and sluices at Stanwick are in need of refurbishment or replacement. This report discusses the various options, such as doings nothing, refurbishing existing structures or constructing new weirs.
