Nitrous oxide mass fluxDefinition (Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Inventory Research Platform. Definition approved 10 June 2013.) The surface mass flux of Nitrous Oxide (N2O) expressed as mass of Nitrogen (N) only. The term "flux" implies per unit area, called "flux density" in physics. The surface called "surface" means the lower boundary of the atmosphere. A positive flux implies flux from soil into air, a negative flux implies flux from air into the soil. Preferred Units: grams of nitrogen per hectare per day
Scope Note: Alternative unit: nanomoles of nitrogen per square metre per second This term is used for the following terms: N/A Approved Date 30-Aug-2013 Click here to give feedback on this term or suggest an update. |
