During the spring and summer of 1997, APEM Ltd were commissioned by the Environment Agency to undertake fish population surveys of 34 sites within the Central Area, North West Region. This report summarises the findings of the fish population surveys undertaken from 12/3/97 to 11/7/97. The objective of this study is to provide fish population data for the Environment Agency on a number of catchments for an investigation of the impact of the recent 1 in 300 year drought event and associated drought orders.
